i know this is more expence but get yourself down to tesco's and buy yourself a bluetooth dongle,
i find that the usb wire to any phone is more hassle than their worth and only work occasionally,
with a bluetooth dongle its quick & easy and no hassle at all

Ok, now what you do is go into settings on your phone. The categories differ from phone to phone but I believe you'll go into connections next, then USB settings. Change the USB mode to PC Studio or Mass Storage mode. This will let your computer recognize your phone as a "memory card" instead of phone. Then open My Computer, Click on the item labeled Removable Disk. Your computer will have them also labeled by letter (example: Removable Disk (E:)) So click on the highest letter, so if you have a disks named a, b, c, d, e, f, g. You would choose G, thats your phone. Now you can also right click on it and rename it as MY PHONE so you don't confuse it with another memory card. So now when you click on the "removable disk" it will show you different folders like Music, My Pictures, My Videos. Click on Music and drag the music you want into that folder! DONE!!
